Load Speed: Why Your SEO Specialist in Brunei Should Also Know Web Design
January 22, 2015Ever wondered how is Brunei connected to the internet?
March 16, 2015The social media giants went down today for no clear reasons as a part of what some calls a “Massive cyber attack”
There is no evidence that this was caused by a hacker attack, but the Faceboook page is not loading and it is not showing any error or any indication as to what the problem is. Some claim that at times, facebook shows an error stating “Sorry, something went wrong. We”re working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can.” unlike what is happening today.
Other than Facebook and Instagram, other online services also appear to be down as of the time of this writing including Hipchat, AIM and Tinder and there is no confirmed reason as to how this happened and if they are connected or not.
All platforms including web and smartphones are not able to access the network, so for those who needs to access their accounts will have to wait until they fix the problem.
UPDATES:
Update 1:
Instagram confirmed the issues and promised to deliver a fix.
We’re aware of an outage affecting Instagram and are working on a fix. Thank you for your patience.

Update 2:
Access to Facebook has been restored in most of the countries, but there’s still no info on what have caused the problems.
Update 3:
Lizard Squad claims to be responsible for the event.

Update 4:
Facebook says that the outage wasn’t caused by a hack attack, but due to some changes it made to its servers.
In a statement for the BBC, a Facebook spokesperson said that “this was not the result of a third-party attack but instead occurred after we introduced a change that affected our configuration systems. We moved quickly to fix the problem, and both services are back to 100% for everyone.”
